1.The short version
In one paragraph
We collect your account details, the CVs you give us, and the job adverts and countries you choose. We use them to produce your reviews and rewritten CVs, and to email you results. We don't sell your data and we don't send your CV to employers. You can download or delete everything at any time.
2.What we collect
- Account details — email address, name, and (if you add it) phone number, job situation, target countries and email preferences.
- CV content — the file you upload or text you paste, and any LinkedIn profile text you paste in.
- Review inputs — job title, company, job advert text, target country and industry.
- Generated output — your scored reviews, rewritten CVs, cover letters and interview notes.
- Payment records — amount, currency, status and the payment reference. Card details go straight to Paystack; we never receive them.
- Basic technical data — the requests your browser makes, needed to serve pages and keep you signed in.
3.Why we use it
- To run the review you asked for and generate your CV versions — this is the contract between us.
- To take payment and keep a record of it, which we also need for tax and accounting.
- To email you your results, and receipts.
- To keep accounts secure and investigate abuse or fraudulent payments.
- To send occasional product news — only if you opted in, and every such email has an unsubscribe link.
4.How AI processing works
To produce a review we send your CV text, the job advert and the country you picked to an AI model through our hosting platform's AI service. The model returns the scores and suggestions you see.
We don't use your CV to train AI models, and we don't allow the model provider to use it for training through our integration.
5.Who else handles your data
These are the only companies that process data on our behalf:

We do not sell or rent your personal data, and we don't share your CV with recruiters or employers. We may disclose data if the law requires it.
6.How long we keep things

7.How we protect it
- Everything travels over HTTPS.
- Passwords are stored hashed — nobody at CVOpteemizer can read yours.
- Database rules restrict every row to the account that owns it, so one user's CVs can't be read by another.
- Uploaded CV files sit in private storage that isn't publicly reachable.
No system is perfectly secure. If a breach ever affects your data, we'll email you and the relevant authority without undue delay, and tell you what happened and what to do.

9.Where your data is stored
Our hosting, AI and email providers operate data centres outside Nigeria, including in the European Union and the United States, so your data may be processed there. Those transfers rely on the providers' standard contractual protections.
10.Your rights
- See your data — ask for a copy of everything we hold about you.
- Correct it — fix your name, email or preferences in settings, or ask us.
- Delete it — delete a CV or a review at any time, or close your account and we remove the rest.
- Object or restrict — tell us to stop using your data for anything beyond running the service.
- Withdraw consent — unsubscribe from product emails without losing your results emails.
We answer data requests within 30 days.
11.Children
CVOpteemizer isn't for anyone under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, write to privacy@cvopteemizer.com and we'll remove it.
12.Changes to this policy
When we change this policy we update the date at the top of the page, and for anything significant we email account holders before it takes effect.
